Who Is The Thread Wizard?

Established in 2006, The Thread Wizard is the longest serving thread repair service based on the south coast. Having spent over 38 years working both in the motor trade and in specialised engineering, David is known as a master engineer of thread repair. If you have a problem David has usually come across it before and, like a doctor, has the cure.

Working predominately for the main dealers within the motor trade and only through recommendations, The Thread Wizard is now available to contact through this website. We provide a fully insured, professional mobile service carrying out thread repair to components in-situ to save you time and money.

We have customers in following industries and regularly carry out work for:

  • Motor trade both independent and Main Dealers
  • Commercial lorry and vans
  • Large Plant and agricultural
  • Marine
  • Military
  • Private individuals

Services Provided

  • Female threads that have been damaged or stripped are professionally repaired back to their original size. Even previously attempted repairs, worn or oval holes or pulled out helicoils can be resolved given sufficient material around the hole to make good. For this I can use V Coil, Recoil, Helicoil, Timeserts, Keyserts, Ensat Inserts and EZ-Lok which are all carried in stock. All Metric, UNC, UNF, and BSF catered for.
  • Certain male threads can be recut up to 150mm in diameter.
  • Snapped bolts and studs completely removed and the thread restored back to the original size.
  • Broken off and seized glow plugs can be removed from the majority of diesel engines with the cylinder head still in situ without causing any damage to the cylinder head or fear of swarf entering the combustion chamber. Sufficient access is required but with my knowledge it is easy for me to tell you what will need stripping off prior to my arrival:
  • Snapped off glow plug electrode tips extracted from within the glow plug chamber using the Pichler kit:
  • Seized and stubborn injector copper washers removed from the cylinder head without causing damage to injector face.
  • Diesel injector seat re-faced in situ.
  • Locking wheel bolt / nut removal with a 100% success rate without damaging the wheel.
  • Snapped spark plugs removed and thread restored.
